Food Pantry Collection
As is our practice on communion Sundays we will be collecting food for Holy Family Food Pantry this Sunday. They have asked if we can provide the following fresh food items: white potatoes, onions, jalapeño peppers, tomatoes, oil. Non perishable food items are always welcomed.

Peace, Love and Chili

Outreach Chili Auction will be held on Sunday, February 12 at 5pm.  

Please have auction items in the office no later than Sunday Feb, 5th. 

Is your Chili the best in town? Do you want the bragging rights of WINNER for a full year? Sign up to enter your chili in the contest!  Entry is FREE!

Prefer to JUDGE the chili? Are your taste buds more developed than others? Do you have a discerning palate?  You can buy your way to glory as a judge in the Chili Contest!  Cost is $25 and you will receive a special JUDGE tie-dye t-shirt to wear the night of the event! Limit of five judges so sign up on the office door. 

Chili Auction Raffle!

Karen Bush has procured another great raffle basket from Caputo’s of Lake Forest, full of wonderful edible goodies for you and your family.  Tickets are only $5 each. Will be available for sale Sunday Feb 5 and the night of the auction.

After School Program Support: Tutoring

Hospitality and Care: baking, hostessing, supply snacks .....

Facilities Maintenance: Painting, repairs, fixing, handyman or woman.

Prayer Shawl Knitters

The group will meet this Sunday after service. All future knitters young and not so young, are encouraged to attend.  The group is happy to share their knowledge and teach new knitters!

Monday Night Yoga The cost is $20 per session with Marian McNair and the class is from 7-8:30pm. The emphasis of these classes will be breathing, slow stretching and relaxation.Perfect for beginners and those with medical conditions.

Women’s Retreat

We’ll meet at Techny Towers Conference and Retreat Center, 2001 Waukegan Road, Techny, Illinois (on the edge of Northbrook).  The retreat will begin with wine, cheese and chocolates at 5:00 pm, and we will enjoy more meaningful time together at 7:00 pm and again on Saturday.

This year’s retreat includes the popular 15 minute chair massages , by MJ Mohr of Lake Bluff Massage Therapy. 

Maximum enrollment is 22. Please sign up in the church office. The cost will be $115, make checks payable to UCLB and drop them in the envelope when you sign up, please.

Soles 4 Souls Shoe Drive

Beginning Sunday February 5 the Youth will be collecting shoes to send to Soles 4 Souls. On Sunday, March 11 they will clean shoes, replace laces, and prepare shoes for shipping.

Soles4Souls collects new shoes to give relief to the victims of abject suffering and collects used shoes to support micro-business efforts to eradicate poverty. 

Please bring your new or gently worn sturdy shoes: child to adult sizes, gym shoes, tennis shoes, walking shoes; that are ready for a new life with someone else. Bins will be located at the front and rear entrance. 

Barefoot Sunday

Also on March 11, everyone is invited to ‘walk a mile’ in the shoes of those who have none by removing your shoes for worship time. If you feel comfortable and are able please join us in support this worthy cause. 

Parenting Group

The next Parent Group will meet after church on Sunday, March 11th.  Continuing our conversations on raising happy, well-adjusted children , we will discuss the influences of parents versus peers.  How can we positively strengthen our influence while still honoring the important relationships our children have with their friends?  Join us for this interesting discussion which will be filled with applicable strategies for you and your family.  

An Invitation:

The Lake Bluff Women's Club will be meeting at our church on Tuesday, February 14 and Tuesday March 13.  The noon luncheon ($8.00) is followed by a program.  Reservations are required by Friday before each meeting date.  Call Donna Dieball, 234-3542

An Invitation: Lay Liturgists 

If you would like to be a more significant part of worship service, as a lay liturgist, please sign up, in the church office, to lead the call to worship and/or the scripture lesson during an upcoming service. All ages are encouraged to be a part of our service time. 

Altar Flowers 

Would you like to brighten up the sanctuary and enhance our worship time? Please sign up on the office bulletin board to provide flowers for an upcoming Sunday.
